I recently had the opportunity to read the new 150 page eBook by Tiffany over at DontWasteTheCrumbs.com titled “High Protein No Powder,” and I have to say, I was a little taken aback. Most of these types of eBooks strike me as just a recipe book with a few pictures, but this is something totally different!
The tagline of the book is “Protein Bars & Smoothies Made with Real Food,” so the first thing I did was skim through the book looking for recipes. I figured, “Hey, I love smoothies, so why not make one of these while I read the book!” I spent about a minute “skimming” only to find there weren’t any actual recipes in the first half of the book or so. I spent the next 30 minutes or so reading through the book, and I was really glad I did!
I found out so much valuable information about protein that I didn’t even know. Did you know that the average person needs 50-80 grams of protein per day?
I had no clue!
Tiffany starts the book itself by telling us how and why she decided to steer her life onto the path of healthier eating and straying away from the processed foods that haunt us all daily. I’m guessing most of us find a little bit of our own story in this section, as well… I know I did.
She goes on to tell you how to use the book, what equipment she recommends, and exactly what “real food” is and is not. You may find some of this information surprising at first, but the more you read, the more you understand that you probably already knew this information, you just hadn’t put it all together yet.
Then you get into the “how’s” and “what’s” about actually making the protein bars and shakes. This part isn’t just “add this to this and blend”… it’s way more. Tiffany breaks it all down for you, explaining exactly how to make the stuff, what are good ingredients to use and why, and then she actually shows you (with pictures) how to make a bar and a smoothie.
Near the end, there is a Protein Quick Reference Guide that is a compilation of all the charts found throughout the book, and is a great reference to find all the information you need on the ingredients Tiffany uses throughout the book.
Folks, I gotta tell you, this wasn’t the book I thought it was going to be at all… and I can guarantee you I will be reading it again and again… and not just for the recipes. Tiffany lists sources for all her facts and has really got a way of captivating an audience with her writing!
Don’t miss out on this, gang! There’s no room for icky powder in a real food diet. Get the REAL scoop on protein in High Protein No Powder!
Make sure you tell her you saw her book on Survival at Home!Disclaimer: I received a free copy of “High Protein No Powder” to read and review on my website, however all opinions are mine.
